Volunteer at Dana-Farber

  • Volunteer placements are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Volunteers must commit to a four-hour shift each week for a period of six months. Please expect to have the same schedule every week.
  • All volunteer placements are on a trial basis for the first three months.
  • Annual performance appraisals are conducted for most volunteer placements.
  • Free pre-placement health screening is required and provided by the Department of Occupational Health Services.
  • Meal vouchers are available for volunteers.
  • All volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
  • The Junior Volunteer Program, for volunteers between the ages of 16 and 18, runs for a six-week period beginning the first week of July. We require two, four-hour shifts or one full day per week. Placements are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please call Volunteer Services for additional information and an application. Applications are due no later than May 23, 2008. The mandatory orientation will take place on June 27 from 2 to 4 p.m.
