A message from Geraldine Ferraro, Dana-Farber patient and former U.S. congresswoman
Together we can make a difference in the fight against cancer. When I served as a U.S. Congresswoman, hearing from my constituents was essential in educating me about how my vote on a particular bill could impact someone's life for better or worse. As a cancer survivor, I believe strongly in encouraging our elected officials to support legislation that will improve the quality of life for individuals with cancer and enable us to ultimately find more cures. When I decided to speak publicly about my multiple myeloma diagnosis, one of my primary objectives was to advocate for increased federal funding for cancer research. So many advances have been made in treating cancer, and I believe more cures are within our reach. We can't afford to let progress stop. By sharing our stories and experiences with legislators, we put a face on cancer and spread awareness of what needs to be done to make our lives better. Please join us and make your voice heard.
