Survivorship Education, Support and Resources
General Survivor Resources
Due to advances in cancer care, education, and research, a considerable majority of people now receiving cancer treatment will survive the disease. As a result, the population of Americans alive today with a history of cancer grows significantly each year. More than ever before, many among this group find themselves turning the focus of their attention from figuring out how to beat the disease, to learning how to survive it.
This section addresses many of the issues confronting cancer survivors, including emotional and physical symptom management; legal rights concerning healthcare and employment; finding appropriate support groups; maintaining, repairing, or enhancing personal relationships; pursuing appropriate follow-up care, and much more.
