Center for Psycho-oncology and Palliative Care Research

Resources

The center provides several resources to promote psycho-oncologic and palliative care research. These resources include access to:

  • Psychometrically sound assessment tools, including availability of online measures for purchase (e.g., Complicated Grief Assessment)
  • Access to large psycho-oncology and palliative care databases, including NIH-sponsored multi-site, longitudinal studies such as the Coping with Cancer study data
  • Online bereavement interventions
  • Links to relevant Web sites
  • Online links to ongoing research projects and recruiters
  • Research mentors

Committees

  • Scientific Advisory Committee - provides outside input from independent, established investigators on the conduct of research within the Center
  • Patient and Family Research Advisory Council - provides patient and family proposals of topics they would like to see addressed by the Center researchers, and input on aspects of clinical care that would benefit from study
  • Community Health Care Providers - promotes research in community health care settings and fosters linkages between academic medical centers, cancer centers and community providers
